Right to Vote

Well, we've been here before but I happened to notice this pic on Facebook commemorating one hundred years from an amendment passed guaranteeing women's right to vote. It made me wonder just how the world became the way it is today. How on earth did it happen that women were thought to be inferior? And why? Even the fact that we give birth must surely have pointed to a huge amount of tenacity, courage, strength and pain-bearing ability that women possess. And yet, still today, it is mostly men - and so often white, privileged and male - who are found in the 'driving seat'. I suppose there was a time when drive, aggression and ruthlessness was needed to forge a world that the ambitious amongst us felt was acceptable to their standards.
It is my opinion that this has led to the depletion of the planet's resources. Greed has overtaken need. Once there was enough to go round but not any more. A disregard for a rapidly growing population could spell disaster for the future of young people today. I am a hundred percent on the side of the current young protesters across the world. The Suffragettes showed the way. No more Mrs Nicegal I imagine them saying! Fight kids. Fight for everything that makes this planet the amazing place it is. Whatever it takes...
