I'm not the greatest gardener but I do understand the pleasures of growing. I manage a pretty good crop of tomatoes every year and am moving on to other things, although sadly slugs and snails often get in before I get a chance to harvest. I see my stories in the same way. I'm lucky I guess, that I don't have a problem with ideas. Inspiration comes easily and I very rarely get writer's block. I have a notebook full of the seeds of ideas that, given a little focus and attention, would soon blossom. Trouble is,today's world is so full of the fruits of other people's labour, it is hard to get noticed, to be picked and tasted. I'm not saying that I have the biggest pumpkin, the perfect runner bean or the roundest beetroot but I know my books are palatable. Most people enjoy the flavour and have even told me, they can't wait for the next crop. So I keep on growing, hoping that one day I'll come up with an idea that blows the world's socks off and becomes 'best in show'. Meanwhile, I hope my first novels 'The Harlequin Triangle' trilogy will provide some tasty holiday reading.
